Community foundation announces recent grant recipients

CONCORDIA, Kan.— The Community Foundation for Cloud County recently awarded grants to five area organizations. In February and March, grants were funded through the community foundation’s Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, the Impact Fund for Cloud County, and the Youth Activity Fund.

The following organizations received funding for charitable projects to benefit Cloud County:

  • City of Concordia, $7,000 to purchase licensing rights through Swank Motion Pictures for 5 movies for the Broadway Plaza Week in the summer of 2022, as well as to assist with the costs of three musicians and one comedian.
  • Concordia Wesleyan Church, $1,500 to assist with covering the costs of large inflatables, candy, prizes, Easter eggs, concessions, supplies and publicity for the Community Easter Egg Hunt.
  • Cloud County Resource Center, $2,883 to upgrade the emergency and exit lights throughout the building in order to make the building safer for all participants.
  • USD 333, $650 to cover the costs of a feature speaker to travel to Concordia High School for the future Pause Paws speaker series.
  • City of Jamestown, $2,000 to assist in funding the annual Jamestown Fourth of July celebration.
