Community foundation announces Q4 grant awards

The Community Foundation for Cloud County recently awarded grants to 12 area projects and organizations. In October, November and December 2018, grants were funded through the community foundation’s Cloud County Public Health Fund, Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, Impact Fund for Cloud County, Seize the Moment Fund and Youth Activity Fund.

The following organizations received funding for charitable projects to benefit Cloud County:

  • Concordia Lutheran Church Bright Beginnings, $11,000 to help children at risk for dyslexia learn to read.
  • MECF, $10,000 to establish the Miltonvale Community Gym.
  • National Orphan Train Complex, Inc., $7,823 to complete payment for the custom statue of Agent Anna Laura Hill.        
  • City of Concordia, $7,000 to help purchase a scoreboard for Doyen Field.
  • Pawnee Mental Health Services, Inc., $6,600 for phone system upgrades.
  • Concordia Area Chamber of Commerce, $5,250 to replace wiring harnesses and bulbs on downtown Concordia snowflake decorations.
  • City of Jamestown, $5,000 to set up electrical and water outlets at Jamestown RV Park.
  • Cloud Sewing Works, Inc., $4,800 to host an Empowerment Training for those looking for jobs in Concordia.
  • City of Concordia, Broadway Plaza Committee, $3,925 for the 2019 Broadway Plaza Summer Movie and Concert Series.
  • Kansas Crossroads Resource Conservation and Development Area, Inc., $2,000.00 to host the Women In Agriculture “Ladies Night Out,” which focused on farm emergency response.
  • NCK CASA, Inc., $500.00 for the annual Christmas Tree Lane Event, which benefitted 12 Cloud County nonprofit organizations.
  • USD 333, $350.00 to help student volunteers plant tulips on the CMS/CHS campus.
