Community foundation announces grant awards

The Community Foundation for Cloud County recently awarded grants to five area organizations. In August and September, grants were funded through the community foundation’s Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, Seize the Moment Fund and Youth Activity Fund.

The following organizations received funding for charitable projects to benefit Cloud County:

  • City of Concordia, $1,000 to help the Hood Park Neighbors build a shade canopy and seating for the Little Free Library at Hood Park.
  • Cloud County Ducks Unlimited, $502.50 to purchase three lifetime Kansas hunting licenses to give to youth attendees during their annual conservation banquet.
  • Neighborhood Initiatives, Inc., $3,160 to purchase books and snacks for the Reading with Friends program, which is operated by the Sisters of St. Joseph at Neighbor to Neighbor in downtown Concordia.
  • North Central Kansas Saddle Club, Inc., $4,280 to help purchase a portable shade structure for use during club functions at the North Central Kansas rodeo facilities.
  • USD 333, $500 to host a training luncheon for volunteers of the new Concordia High School Mentor Program.
