CFCC ratifies and awards grants

The Community Foundation for Cloud County grants committee met May 22, 2019 and ratified and awarded grants totaling $38,107.

The following community grants were awarded:

  • A $4,000 grant to the National Trains Orphan Train Complex. Inc. to help with the cost of the base for the Agent Anna Hill and Anna Louise Doherty statues. This grant is paid with $2,000 from the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund and $2,000 from the Impact fund for Cloud County.
  • A $4,000 grant to the Brown Grand Opera House, Inc. to support the Missoula Children’s theatre presentation “The Snow Queen.” This grant is from the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund.
  • A $500 grant to the City of Concordia – Swim Team toward the purchase of a racing timing system. This grant is from the Seize the Moment Fund.
  • A $2,000 grant to the North Central Kansas Teens for Christ to support a Christ Rally – Fight the New Drug. This grant is funded by $454 from the Seize the Moment Fund and $1,546 from the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund.
  • A $2,000 grant to the City of Jamestown to help purchase a mosquito fogger from the Impact Fund for Cloud County.
  • A $1,500 grant to the Smoky Hills Public Hills television for their Literacy Leadership program for Cloud County children. This grant is from the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund.

The committee also ratified the following grants from other community foundation funds:

  • A $338 grant to the Baptist Church of Concordia as an annual distribution for hall renovation from The Baptist Church of Concordia Fund.
  • A $450 grant to the Cloud County Historical Society Museum Fund as the annual distribution from their restricted fund.
  • A $593 grant to the Cloud County Historical Society Museum Fund as the annual distribution from their endowed fund.
  • A $498 grant to the Cloud County Community College Foundation as the annual distribution for a baseball scholarship from the “Swede” and Larry Nelson Baseball Scholarship Designated Fund.
  • A $332 grant to the USD #333 as the annual distribution for support of the CMS Leadership Program/Career Day/Interview Day/Mentor program from the USD #333 Concordia High School Endowment Fund.
  • A $12,743 grant to the Concordia Lutheran Church for grants as partial annual distribution from the Concordia Lutheran Church Fund,
  • A $737 grant to the Concordia Wesleyan Church as the annual distribution from the Concordia Wesleyan Church Benevolent Fund.
  • A $277 grant to Kansas Big Brother and Sisters as the annual distribution from the Margaret Babcock and Everette C. Morgan Family Fund.
  • A $277 grant to North Central Kansas CASA Inc. as the annual distribution from the Margaret Babcock and Everette C. Morgan Family Fund.
  • A $424 grant to North Central Kansas Teens for Christ as the annual distribution from the Teens for Christ Ministry Fund.
  • A $574 grant to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish as the annual distribution to support the weekly bulletin from the Lorene M. Fraser Designated Fund.
  • A $1,095 grant to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish as the annual distribution to support parish operations from the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Endowed Memorial Fund.
  • A $772 grant to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish as the annual distribution to support St. Concordia Cemetery from the St, Concordia Cemetery Fund.
  • A $3,922 grant to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish as the annual distribution to use in the ministry of the congregation from the M. Lavon and Jack R. Brosseau Endowment Fund.
  • A $616 grant to USD# 333 as the annual distribution to be used as a football scholarship from the Trevor Lee Gennette Memorial Scholarship Fund.
  • A $459 grant to USD# 333 as the annual distribution to be used as a wrestling scholarship from the Doug Moore Wrestling Scholarship Fund.
